Elizabeth Jenkins is a freelance writer and Contributor to InStyle. Before becoming a freelancer in December 2007, Elizabeth was an editor at InStyle for four years—three in New York and one in Los Angeles. During that time, she wrote and edited hundreds of stories on celebrity weddings, interior design, beauty and fashion for InStyle and its special issues (Weddings, Home and Makeover). She has interviewed headliners from Christina Aguilera and Jeffrey Bilhuber to Oscar Blandi and Peggy Post.
Elizabeth continues to write for InStyle and contributes regularly to AOL’s wedding website, AisleDash.com, which launched in March 2010. She has also written for Every Day with Rachael Ray, Food Network Magazine, Real Simple (and its special issues, Real Simple Travel and Real Simple Family), Health, Weight Watchers, Sunset, C, O at Home and the U.K.'s Homes & Gardens. She has scouted houses for Country Living and O at Home, contributed reporting to TV Guide and has stories appearing in Redbook this fall.Though she is based in L.A., she also reports on restaurants, boutiques, hotels and spas in Orange County, San Diego and Palm Springs.
Elizabeth is an expert on celebrity weddings and etiquette and spoke about trends at A Soolip Wedding, an annual event hosted by Soolip, the high-end L.A. stationer, in March 2009. She also moderated a discussion with designer Trina Turk on the intersection of fashion and interior design for the La Cienega Design Walk in May 2009.
Elizabeth was born and raised in Houston, Texas, attended Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tenn., and now lives in Los Angeles, Calif., with her husband, Lee, a senior writer at Sports Illustrated, and their son, Austin.
